Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 5

NOTE: The following is a guest post from one of my favorite internet marketing mentors.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 5
By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliatenaire"

The word "overhead" is not a favorite among those who run businesses of any kind. Nobody likes the expenses of operating a business. And nobody really talks about them much when it comes to promoting all of the "money-making"products and services online.

But, don't kid yourself, there's a lot of overhead.

That brings me to the fifth reason why I love affiliate marketing...

** You don't need a big budget to make it work **

Do you have any idea how much money is spent running an internet business? There are monthly fees for...

* Autoresponders
* Hosting
* Management
* Advertising
* Scripts
* Much more

There are regular fees for...

* Licensing
* Outsourcing
* Support
* Customer Service
* Maintenance
* Development
* Recruting
* Much more

It's not uncommon to spend tens of thousands (even hundreds of thousands) of dollars in operational costs -- which is fine if you've been in business a while and are making the bucks. However, if you're a newcomer, it can be taxing on your budget!

SIDEBAR: I paid one girl over $30,000 last year just to oversee one small part of my business. No one talks much about it, but there ARE a lot of expenses involved before you get to the "bottom line" of profit.

BUT, with affiliate marketing, you don't need a big budget to make it work! You can simply use a variety of free and low-cost marketing methods to generate clicks to your affiliate link.

That's why I love affiliate marketing.

You don't need a big budget to make it work.

Quick Tip: Get Organized

Chances are that you'll want to work on more than one affiliate program at a time after you get the hang of it. Once you begin your affiliate marketing career you'll need to have easy access to lots of information (ad campaigns, email addresses, website info, partner info, etc.) You can easily get overwhelmed with all of the information if you don't get organized.

Set up a system that will allow you to store the information, you can use folders, spreadsheets, reports or anything else that will help you quickly access the information when it’s needed.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 4

NOTE: The following is a guest post from one of my favoriteinternet marketing mentors.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 4
By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliatenaire"

I'm sure by now you are well aware that there are those whohave reported HUGE amounts of money being made with theironline businesses. What you may not be aware of is theamount of work involved in generating those "sales" (notalways net profit, mind you ... this isn't "spendable"income in a lot of cases.)

That brings me to the fourth reason why I love affiliatemarketing...

** You don't need to manage an entire business **

While it can be quite lucrative, running an entire business with employees, inventory, partners, vendors, and other associates can be a time-sucking, frustrating ordeal.

Imagine...

* Processing refunds
* Putting out fires when partners SPAM
* Managing day-to-day operations
* Overseeing projects you've outsourced
* Recruting new affiliates
* Training everyone to help you
* Paying taxes
* Taking care of the paper trail
* Doing all of the "stuff" that business owners do.

Didn't you want to start an internet business to make more time for important things in life?

Why not make a lot of money WITHOUT making a lot of extrawork for yourself?!

It can be a lot of extra work and stress. BUT, with affiliate marketing, you don't need to manage an entire business! You are simply responsible for promoting your affiliate link... someone else handles all the rest.

That's why I love affiliate marketing.

You don't need to manage an entire business.

Can You Increase Profits With Niche Affiliate Marketing?

3 Questions & Answers on Niche Affiliate Marketing

Q: What is Niche Affiliate Marketing?
A: Niche affiliate marketing is promoting a product or service in a specific area of demand. What that means is that a product or service is being sold to the people who are most interested in that particular product or service and not to the world in general.

Q: How Can Niche Affiliate Marketing Help Me?
A: Niche affiliate marketing will allow your advertising budget go further. It costs less to advertise to a targeted market than it does to advertise to a broad market.

Q: Why is Niche Affiliate Marketing So Effective?
A: Niche marketers must tailor their promotions to meet the unique needs of their target market. For example, if you have designed a product to make poodle grooming easy enough for the untrained professional to do it, those who own poodles will be most interested in your product. Those who own Blood Hounds or cats couldn’t care less.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 3

NOTE: The following is a guest post from one of my favoriteinternet marketing mentors.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 3
By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliatenaire"

Some people have the ability to persuade others and talk them into just about anything. Especially when it comes to influencing their buying decisions. They know how to push the right hot buttons, say things the right way and generally get consumers into an emotional frenzy to the point they are ready to click an order button.

There are two key words in that paragraph that really need to stand out in your mind: "some people".

Not everyone has this ability. In fact, only a few do.

That brings me to the third reason why I love affiliate marketing...

** You don't need to write a world class salesletter**

Have you ever tried to write a salesletter? There's a reason why professional copywriters charge up to $10,000 (and sometimes even more) for a SINGLE salesletter. It takes a lot of experience and skill to write a top-gun salesletter, which is why most people have a hard time convincing people to buy if they do create their own products and website.

They simply don't have the right salesletter in place to make it all work. Without good copy, it really doesn't matter how spectacular the offer is, you're simply notgoing to get many sales.

SIDEBAR: The average conversion rate of site visitors who become buyers is reportedly less than 2%. That means 98 out of every 100 do NOT buy. That's why sales are so incredibly bad for a poor site ... you *might* get 2 sales out of every 300-400 visitors.

BUT, with affiliate marketing, you don't need to write a salesletter! You simply direct people to someone else's high-octane salesletter for THEM to convert your leads into commissionable sales.

That's why I love affiliate marketing.

You don't need to write a world class salesletter.

5 Benefits of Outsourcing for Affiliate Marketers

When you are in business for yourself, especially affiliate marketing, you'll find there are a number of different things for you to learn about that can save you time and make you money. Outsourcing is by far one of the more exciting things to discover and put to use.

All too common is the affiliate marketer who feels they have to do everything themselves in order for things to go smoothly in their online venture. This couldn’t be farther from the truth! In case you’re curious about why so many online business owners are singing the praises of outsourcing, keep reading to see just five of the many benefits it can obtain.

More Value for Your Time
When you own an online business, one of the most important things to remember is how much your time is really worth. When you think about the dull or repetitive tasks that you are doing, you'll find this work is not worth your high per hour price tag! When you outsource, you'll pay someone else to take care of those responsibilities while you give attention to the more important, money-making projects.

Saving Resources
Think about everything that goes into the tasks that you would outsource. This will range from things like your time and space to costs such as Internet and software. After awhile all of these costs add up. For instance, graphics software can get quite expensive. If you are outsourcing an activity, you get more than just the task itself out of the way. You will also get someone who specializes in areas of your business that you may not know quite as well as or have no desire to learn. More than likely these people will already have the tools needed to complete their assignment. Depending on the project, this might save you money and learning time. This brings me to the next benefit of outsourcing.

Going to the Experts
The tasks you are outsourcing might not be ones that you have no desire to learn about, whether they are troubleshooting, manufacturing, taking orders, website design and maintenance, or something else. By handing the work over to an expert who enjoys and makes it their business to know these things, you'll be able to take advantage of their knowledge in the area without having to learn it yourself. This in turn will give your customers or clients more than you could possibly give them yourself.

Expand
When you outsource, you will soon realize that you are in a great place when it comes to getting more involved with your business. You will be able to expand and provide everything your customers need. Outsourcing frees you up to try new things with your business, learn more and experience new aspects of your industry.

Accountability
When you outsource, you will have a contract with the person or company you are working with. By having someone else who is depending on work from you, you are more apt to stay ahead of the game by planning better and making sure that you’re tasks are getting completed as well.

When you first begin learning about and implementing outsourcing techniques within your business, you’ll find out those boring or repetitive tasks can easily be handed off to someone who enjoys doing them. This will allow you, as the business’ owner, to free up more time to concentrate on more important aspects of your business such as product creation, advertising, networking and other marketing practices.

These are the things that will help your business to grow even more profitable.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 2

NOTE: The following is a guest post from one of my favoriteinternet marketing mentors.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 2
By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliatenaire"

Pop quiz time. What does "HTML" stand for? Don't know that one? How about this - what does "FTP" stand for? OK, one more chance. Do you know how to work with either?

That brings me to the second reason why I love affiliate marketing...

** You don't need to build a website **

What scares people more than creating a product is building a website!

* What in the world is HTML? Or FTP?
* How much does the software cost? And hosting?
* How do I upload files?
* Why isn't it formatted correctly?
* Why don't my graphics look like the ones the pros have?

If you are a complete beginner, it can be very difficult (even using templates) to get an attractive website in place. And hiring a professional to do it for you is out of the budget for most people.

But, with affiliate marketing, you don't need to build a website. You simply send visitors to someone else's professionally designed site through your affiliate link.

SIDEBAR: Just in case you're interested, HTML stands for "hypertext markup language" and is the coding used to build webpages. FTP stands for "file transfer protocol" and is the process used for moving files from your computer to a website, or vice versa.

Really, in a manner of looking at it, you get to take advantage of the time and money invested by someone elseto develop the site. Think about it: when you promote an affiliate link, it reflects firstly upon YOU. You are the one who is advertising the link, recommending the product, sending people who have interacted with YOU to the website.

The professional site of someone else really represents you as the promoter, in the eye of those who have clicked through your link.

You get the benefits without the bother.

That's why I love affiliate marketing.

You don't need to build a website.

New! Affiliate Profit Boost's FREE Affiliate Marketing eCourse

Throwing affiliate links on your site and waiting for people to buy is NOT the way to make money as an affiliate marketer.

Sure, you might get a few sales that way, but if you want to get serious about your affiliate marketing and really make some dough, you need to work a bit harder than just writing a few recommendations, posting a few buttons or banners and sending out an email or two.

There are two types of affiliates:

The Mediocre Affiliate takes time to redirect his or her links, puts a few graphics on their site, writes a few reviews on their blog, and might even send an email to their mailing list to try and generate sales.

The SUPER Affiliate, on the other hand, goes beyond that. They take their marketing efforts a few steps further and put themselves ahead of the rest.

Sign up for our FREE eCourse to find out how they do it.

Make Sure You Know the Rules of the Affiliate Programs You Promote

Affiliate marketing can be pretty easy, as long as you know and follow the rules. This isn't a problem if you only promote a few affiliate programs, but as your business grows and you join more programs it could be. Guidelines for each affiliate program can vary. This is because each company is allowed to make their own rules.

Rules can range from not mentioning the brand names that they sell anywhere on your website, to not have that particular market in your website URL.

Another rule that you may see is the page rank rule. Some of the companies that will allow you to promote their services or products don't want you to have a higher page rank than they do. Nor will they allow you to have a website that is higher in the search engine rankings.

The rules are different for each program and company that you promote, you are going to have to be sure that you read each one very carefully and make sure that you understand it completely. Avoid this by keeping a spreadsheet of the affiliate marketing programs that you are a part of and their rules is a great idea. This is the best thing that you can do for your affiliate marketing business.

You will find that some of the affiliate sites that have broken rules and have been caught have resulted in law suits. Don't let that happen to you. Cover your tracks and make sure that you are following the rules that are set by that company for the best results.

You can also purchase affiliate marketing software. If you can find a program that fits your needs and will help you keep everything straight, you may not have to worry about keeping track of them yourself.

Use your software to keep track and make sure that you are doing your affiliate marketing the right way. Your efforts will pay off eventually, and you will be glad that you went by the book and followed the necessary affiliate marketing rules.

How to Guarantee Success in Affiliate Marketing - Part 2

Setting Goals You Can Reach

One of the biggest problems plagueing newbie affiliate marketers in that they tend to set unrealistic goals for themselves. This can result in them becoming discouraged and giving up before seeing any results. Setting more achievable goals in the beginning will keep you from being disappointed later on.

For example, a goal of earning $50 a day may seem small, but it is achievable and it is a good place to start. Remember, you are also learning how this business works and making money at the same time. Give it some time and you could substantially increase your income with affiliate
marketing.

Review your goals periodically, 2-3 times monthly.These goals should help you reach the ultimate goal that you want to achieve in terms of success or income you want to earn. Make a list of these goals and keep them visible at all times. This will help focus your energy towards your goals.

Make Connections With Other Affiliate Marketers

Professional affiliate marketers are a close group of individuals who stay connected regularly with each other. A continuous stream of information is being shared at all times. Successful marketers strongly believe that everyone can benefit by learning from each others mistakes.

Getting out there to help people is a much better attitude to take than just looking for business. This is a better attitude to have in the long run to make long lasting friends and build a business that will give you a long lasting income. People will jump to help you when you are willing to help them first.

If you can try and relate to these people you will be sharing the same objectives they do. It will also relieve a great deal of work stress and, as a result, you will be able to perform better.

When you invest a little money in someone else’s business, you can't be ignored. They will take you more seriously and you will shine!

How to Guarantee Success in Affiliate Marketing - Part 1

Affiliate Marketing is the fastest growing industry on the Internet today. Many people want to earn extra income through affiliate marketing and get involved without a solid plan for success, which is the most common reason for not being successful in their businesses.

Would you really want to start any business without a solid business plan?

Although affiliate marketing can be an easy and way to earn extra income online, it is serious work, and just like any other job it requires effort, perseverance and, above all, a clear plan of action from start to finish.

Small things like properly setting up your home office, catching up on the latest trends, setting achievable goals, making the right connections, and investing in your business will ensure that you are a step ahead of your competition.

Setting Up Your Home Office

The most important step to take before becoming an affiliate marketer is to set up your base – the cozy little home office you’ve always wanted.

You can find many resources on the internet about ergonomic design. You'll want it to be ergonomic because you are going to spend a great deal of time working on your computer and need furniture that promotes good posture while taking care of safety issues.

Learning the Trade

Have you ever started a job that didn't require any type of training? Even the simplest jobs require that you know how to perform the basic tasks correctly and effectively. Learning
the necessary skills in affiliate marketing will determine wether you are successful or not.

What you'll need is to get some training on how to become a professional affiliate marketer. You can start by finding a mentor. There are many affiliate marketers already earning a substantial income who would be willing to teach you. The internet also offers various resources and quite a few conference calls and webinars which you can attend to learn necessary skills.

The secret is never stop seeking knowledge about your business, you will learn something new day after day.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 1

NOTE: The following is a guest post from one of my favoriteinternet marketing mentors.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 1
By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliatenaire"

Do you find yourself "starting" to create your own product to sell online, but never "finishing" it?

One of the things I love about affiliate marketing is --

** You don't need to create your own products **

Many people find the idea of creating their own products to be an overwhelming and even paralyzing task.

* I don't have any good ideas!
* I'm not a writer!
* There's too much competition!
* I don't know how to set everything up!
* I can't figure out where to start!
* It's too hard!

These are just a few of the valid reasons many people give when it comes to not creating their own products to sell. I'm sure with a few minutes of brainstorming, we could come up with a list of many more.

With affiliate marketing, you don't need your own products. You simply promote someone else's already proven successful offer for a commission.

And, truth be told, even if you ARE a writer and you DO have lots of ideas and you CAN figure it all out...

** Nobody wants to create new products all the time **

As good as you may be, you don't know everything! Why try to create a product on every topic imaginable in your market when you can earn just as much money by simply promoting someone else's really good offer as one of your profit streams?

That's why I love affiliate marketing.

You don't need to create your own products.

Quick Traffic Technique: Article Marketing

Article marketing builds traffic slowly. There are faster ways to get traffic. But, when you build traffic using these methods as well, you are also building your credibility. You are drawing responsive people to your site, and if your site is doing its job as well, and you get those people on your list, you can draw them back time and time again.

The concept is that you write an article, which should be anywhere from 350 to 750 words in length. You include an author’s resource box at the bottom of your article, and your website link is included in that resource box. Then you submit the article to article directories and ezine publishers.

If you don't have the time to write articles from scratch, you can get great PLR(Private Label Rights) articles that you can rewrite and put your name on at EasyPLR.com. If you don’t have the time it takes to submit articles, you can hire a service to do that for you as well. It is essential to your affiliate marketing business that you do article marketing, because it is viral. Your articles will be used on other people’s websites, blogs, and in their ezines – spreading the word about your site.

How Important Is It to Recognize Your Target Market?

It may seem like a silly question, but many newbie affiliate marketers fail to realize how important this really is. All of your marketing efforts will go to waste if the correct audience hasn't been targeted. You may get lucky and make a few sales here and there, but your business will never reach it's full potential if you are not reaching the people who really want the products you have to offer.

A few things to keep in mind when choosing your target audience:
  1. What is the age group?
  2. Gender?
  3. Marital status?
  4. Occupation?
  5. Health status?
  6. Income status?
  7. Cultural background?
  8. Education?
  9. Hobbies?

By asking yourself these simple questions you can dramatically narrow the audience you market to and ultimately generate more sales. It will also allow your advertising budget to go much further.

4 Questions to Ask When Choosing a Good Affiliate Program

Before you join an affiliate program do plenty of research. Get some answers because they will be the deciding point of what you will be achieving later on. Here are some important things to consider before joining an affiliate program:

Will it cost you anything to join?
Most affiliate programs today are totally free to join. Why settle for one that charges you to promote their products?

When are the commission checks issued?
Each affiliate program is different. Some issue their checks weekly, monthly or even quarterly. Select the one that best suits your payment needs. Many affiliate programs set a minimum commission amount that an affiliate must meet or exceed in order for their checks to be issued.

What is the hit per sale ratio?
This is the average number of hits to a banner or text link it takes to generate a sale based on all affiliate statistics. This factor is extremely important because this will tell you how much traffic you must generate before you can earn a commission from the sale.

How are affiliate referrals tracked and how long do they remain in the system?
You need to be confident that the program will correctly track people you refer from your site. This is the only way that you will recieve credit for a sale. The period of time that your referrals stay in the system is also important. This is because some visitors don't buy right away but may want to return later to make the purchase. You should know if you will still get credit for a sale even if it is made months after the initial visit.

Any Serious Affiliate Marketer Knows These 3 Tools Are a Must

As you have probably heard it is possible to make a decent living as an affiliate marketer. What most people don't realize is in affiliate marketing, like any business, there are certain tools that are required in order to run an efficient business. Although you can earn a little money without them if you want to make it to the top they are a must.

1. Your Own Website to collect visitors information
Your website should serve one purpose--to collect prospects information--names & email addresses. Be sure that you have a specific call to action let prospects clearly know what you want them to do. Offer incentives(free reports, ebooks, ecourses) to encourage your visitors to sign-up.

2. An Autoresponder to Deliver Regular Messages
Your autoresponder will work for you delivering subscribers more information about your niche. You can also use it to inform them of new products, services and special offers.

3. Quality products to recommend for back-end sales
The subscribers on your list are potential customers. Continue building a relationship with them by providing them with valuable content, make back-end sales by recommending related
products.

Of course there are many more tools that you'll need as an affiliate marketer these 3 are just the basics. (As you probably noticed tool #1 & tool #2 will lead to tool #3 and anyone serious about affiliate marketing knows "the money is in the list")

6 Essential Qualities of an Affiliate Marketer

Just what are the qualities needed in order to succeed in affiliate marketing? With all the competition out there you will need to make yourself stand out from the rest. Possessing these five qualities will allow you to rise above your competition.

Quality # 1 - Willingness to learn & be trained.
Whether or not you take the time to learn the basics of affiliate marketing can make or break you in this business. The more you are willing to learn the more successful you can become.

Quality # 2 - Willingness to invest time & effort.
In affiliate marketing it can sometimes be months before you see any profits. You have to be patient and know that it takes time to build any type of business.

Quality # 3 - Self-determination.
You must possess the ability to motivate yourself to never give up. If you want to make it in this business you can't quit because you don't see immediate results.

Quality # 4 - Discipline.
Just as if you were working at a regular job you have to set a schedule to get important tasks finnished. When your business starts to take off you will see why this is necessary. Make this a habit in the begining to be sure to get started on the right foot.

Quality # 5 - Optimism.
A positive attitude is always a good quality no matter what path you decide to take in life. Never let anybody tell you that you can't succeed just because they're too scared to try. As anyone who is successful will tell you, keep your head up and keep pushing ahead.

Quality # 6 - Desire.
You've got to really want it, plain and simple. Even if you possess all of the other qualities if you don't truly want to succeed you won't.

To sum it all up - it doesn't matter how many tools, resources, or connections an individual has the real key to success in affiliate marketing is in one's self. If you already have these qualities great, if not strive to develop them. It will mean the difference between success and failure.
